Obtaining Certified Copies

In some cases you may be requested to provide certified copies of your marriage certificate, name change certificate or identification.  This is done where a company does not want the responsiblity of accepting your original documents via mail.  This is done to verify your identity and minimise the chance of fraud.

The person certifying your copy will write write ‘this is a true copy, sighted by name, date, professional organisation’.  Be sure to take your original documents along too.
