Lake Michigan Credit Union requires customers to visit a branch in person and present their original proof of name change and photo ID. Your proof of name change varies depending on your reason for changing names; marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order.
Before updating any financial records, be sure to change names with the SSA first. Ideally, you should also get an updated photo ID soon after, but Lake Michigan accepts photo IDs in either your old or new names.
