BBVA Compass

Banking Name Change Procedure

If you’re a customer with BBVA Compass (now PNC Bank) you’ll need to attend a PNC bank location in person with an updated photo ID and your original proof of name change, such as a marriage certificate or court order. Because you need to present an updated photo ID, there are a few steps you need to follow first.

No matter what your reason for changing names is, take your proof of name change, current photo ID (in your previous name) and the SSA name change form (included in your Easy Name Change kit) in person to any SSA location. Your name change is processed on the spot, but you need to wait 2-3 days for your updated SSA record to be visible to other agencies. Next, visit the DMV to get an updated driver’s license or non-driver ID card. Only then you can go on to update your bank account.

Once your name change has been processed by the bank, allow a few weeks for new checkbooks and plastic cards to be issued. While you wait, you can go onto change names with all other companies. Follow the instructions in your Easy Name Change kit. We provide detailed filing processes for all your chosen companies along with ready to send letters, forms and emails. Simply attach the proof documents listed on each of our notifications then send!
