City National Bank Customers
City National Bank customers should update the name on their accounts soon as they have updated photo ID available. Customers may experience issues when cashing checks in a name that is different from that on City National Bank accounts.
Banks have a higher standard of proof for name changes because they hold money on your behalf and can provide credit. You will need to show both updated photo ID as well as your original marriage certificate or court order. That means you should update the SSA first, followed by your state DMV and then your City National Bank account.
