Suncoast Credit Union Name Change Procedure

Suncoast Credit Union customers are able to change names either in person or by mail. No matter how you proceed, you’ll first need photo ID updated to show your new name. Follow these steps to a speedy name change.

Start by updating your SSA and photo ID

  1. Ensure you start by updating your name with the SSA. We recommend filing the SSA name change form in person so that you don’t need to mail in original identity documents.
  2. Attend your state DMV in person. If they have a form, we provide it! Our researched companies’ procedures also explain if your state has a duplicate fee and what other identity documents may be required.
  3. Wait for your updated photo ID to be received, then make a copy and send it together with your proof of name change (marriage certificate or court order) and the Suncoast Credit Union name change form. We provide this form in your kit. Click the button below to get all the necessary company forms and filing instructions.
  4. Attend and any other banks or credit unions. Most financial institutions require you to attend in person as they want to witness your original proof of name change and updated photo ID.
