QUT Alumni

Universities Name Change Procedure

Changing your name with QUT can be a bit of a hassle, depending on your situation. If you’re a current student, you’ll need to provide legal evidence of your name change to the student administration. If you’re about to graduate, there might be a deadline for accepting a name change. But if you’re a former student, the process is much simpler.

Keep in mind that QUT won’t issue a new graduation certificate under a different name, so it’s important for current students to act fast. Former students can just present their degree or graduation papers along with their birth, marriage, or legal name change certificate, depending on the reason for the name change.

If your university has a special form for name changes, we have it on file. Changing your name can also mean updating other important records like insurance, utilities, identification, and superannuation. Let us do the hard work for you with our name change kits. Our kits provide pre-addressed letters and emails in your name, which only require you to sign your old and new names and enclose your marriage or name change certificate. If QUT Alumni has their own form for name changes, we’ll provide that too.

Creating a name change kit only takes 15 minutes and you’ll receive it within minutes of payment. So why waste time doing your own research? Get started now!
