Name Change Checklist

Whatever your reasons for changing your name – marriage, divorce, legal name change – making sure you've registered your updated details with everyone you need to can be a long, tedious and confusing affair, particularly when many organisations have their own byzantine name-change processes and demand that you first make a phone call and then send in various documents and then drop by the office... If you don't set about the task in a methodical fashion you will quickly find yourself mired in confusion, and be called by different names wherever you go.

Everyone will have their own individual list of people they need to contact, and their own priorities. Here's a general checklist to get you started. Work your way through the list, ticking the organisations off as you go. For even more of a head start buy an Easy Name Change kit which contains many of the forms you'll need to fill in and some letter templates. Get organised and enjoy a hassle-free name change!
